July 10, 2008 (LBO) - Sri Lankan retailer Odel says it has opened a scaled down version of its 'fashion and lifestyle store' in the Southern area of Colombo, styled after its main outlet in Alexandra Place, the company said.
Odel says it has doubled the floor space in its Dutugemunu Street outlet to 11,000 square feet from 5,000 to increase the items of clothing, gifts, household items, shoes, handbag and lingerie.

"We have made an effort to provide the complete range and experience that our Alexandra Place shop has come to represent,” said Otara Gunewardene, Odel chief executive Otara Gunewardene said.

"The result is a well-designed single-floor retail space comprising of the most popular departments, for the benefit of shoppers in the suburbs south of Colombo."

The outlet also houses Odel's 'Sari Bar', 'Backstage’ dealing in fashion accessories and ‘Delight’ and ‘Nuts & Nibbles’ food departments.
